Equally skilled as a guitarist, Jason brings both versatility and passion to every performance. With experience performing on both local and national stages—and a background that includes a professional recording contract—he exemplifies dedication, professionalism, and true musicianship.

Jason’s influences span a wide musical spectrum, drawing inspiration from guitar legends like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Slash, Brad Paisley, and Keith Urban, as well as vocal greats such as Travis Tritt, Johnny Van Zant, and Elvis Presley. Whether on or off the stage, Jason gives nothing less than 100%.

Founder of Rough Shot in 2002, Paul Kasin brings decades of experience and deep-rooted passion for music to the stage. Originally from Long Island, New York, Paul’s career began in the heart of the rock and roll club scene, where he honed his signature “in-the-pocket” bass style.

After relocating to South Florida in the mid-1980s, Paul quickly became a sought-after bassist, performing with some of the area’s top bands including Bedrock, Nothing to Prove, The Rob Rage Band, and The Headliners. His transition into the country music scene in 1997 allowed him to blend his rock roots with southern flair, performing with groups such as Brad Brock and The Renegades before launching Rough Shot in 2002.

Since then, Paul has led the band with unwavering dedication—always the first to arrive and the last to leave. What began as a passion project has evolved into one of South Florida’s premier variety bands, bringing audiences the very best hits across every genre.

With influences that include Reese Wynans, Dr. John, and David Bryan, Michael Spencer brings depth, texture, and character to Rough Shot’s signature sound. A seasoned musician with over 24 years of experience, Michael masterfully balances the essentials while adding those subtle musical touches that elevate every performance.

A dedicated Yamaha keyboards player, his skill, professionalism, and creative instinct have helped take the band to new heights. Known for his strong work ethic and humble personality, Michael is as much a pleasure to share the stage with as he is to work alongside behind the scenes.

Scott Algeria
Drums

Born in Long Island, New York, and raised in Coconut Creek, Florida, Scotty has been immersed in music from a young age. Now residing in Coral Springs with his wife and son, he continues to bring his lifelong passion for rhythm and performance to every Rough Shot show.

Scotty began playing drums at just five years old and launched his professional career by sixteen. Over the years, he has performed with several well-known South Florida bands, including Headliners, Bedrock, The Broken Toyz, and The Hired Gunz Band, while also serving as a trusted backup drummer for numerous acts.

Outside of music, Scotty is a classically trained chef and currently serves as Executive Chef at Del Frisco’s Grille in Fort Lauderdale. When he’s not behind the drum kit or in the kitchen, you’ll likely find him working on one of his classic cars or riding his Harley-Davidson.

His musical influences span some of the greatest drummers in history, including John Bonham (Led Zeppelin), Alex Van Halen (Van Halen), Dave Grohl (Nirvana), Rich Redmond (Jason Aldean), and Buddy Rich.
